Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides everyday banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.
On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Strategy Manager for an initial 6-month contract based in London. It is a hybrid model.
Purpose of the role:
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Strategy Manager to broaden their risk expertise, build strong stakeholder relationships, and progress their career through diverse responsibilities and development programmes.
What you'll do:
- Support the development and structuring of business plans, providing analysis and constructive challenge to enhance quality and preparing reports for executive and board audiences.
- Deliver strategic analysis on business performance, competitor activity, customer behaviour, and new business opportunities.
- Lead initiatives to shape the function's strategic direction and drive improvements in overall performance.
- Contribute to developing customer propositions, distribution strategies, and analytical solutions to enhance customer acquisition and balance sheet growth.
- Utilise actionable analytics to maximise profitability, support key objectives, and maintain robust, high-quality strategic insights.
- Partner with Economics, Finance, and Risk teams to develop financial models, scenarios, and forecasts, while ensuring effective implementation and governance of strategy policies and frameworks.
The skills you'll need:
- Strong academic background in a numerate or quantitative discipline (MBA preferred) or proven experience turning data and research into strategic insights.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and communicate it effectively.
- Skilled in collaboration and stakeholder management, with the ability to influence senior leaders and external partners.
- Experience in Financial Services, Consultancy, or strategic development, with a solid understanding of industry regulations, finance, and risk frameworks.
- Proficient in data analytics, financial or statistical modelling, and producing clear, evidence-based reports.
