Senior Quantity Surveyor MEP (Shell & Core) Central London Site-Based From £70,000 + Package Major Commercial Project Full MEP Shell & Core Installation Full-time Permanent Are you a commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong MEP experience in Shell & Core commercial developments? We re seeking a capable and committed SQS to support the commercial leadership of a major central London commercial project, delivering the complete Shell & Core installation of the full Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health (MEP) services. You ll act as the No.2 to the Commercial Director, managing the full commercial lifecycle and working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to drive value and performance. Role Overview:
  • Act as the deputy to the Commercial Director on a high-profile commercial scheme
  • Manage all commercial aspects of the MEP Shell & Core package procurement, valuations, variations, reporting, and final accounts
  • Work collaboratively with the wider project team, subcontractors, consultants, and client-side teams
  • Oversee subcontractor accounts and ensure effective cost control and cash flow forecasting
  • Assist in risk identification, value engineering, and change management processes
  • Prepare and present regular commercial reports to senior management
  • Be a visible and active presence on site throughout the project lifecycle
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Minimum 6+ years experience in Quantity Surveying roles, with a strong MEP focus
  • Demonstrable experience delivering Shell & Core MEP packages on large-scale commercial developments (ideally London-based)
  • Confident managing subcontractor accounts and leading commercial negotiations
  • Strong knowledge of JCT or NEC contract forms
  • Proficient in commercial reporting and contract administration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Must be willing to work as part of the site team and be based on-site full time

Liaising with project surveyor to assist the PM with the monthly PFR report.- Quality control.- Risk control (programme and commercial)Qualifications/Skills:- HNC/HNC in Building Services Engineering or similar.- CSCS/IOSH/SMSTS.- Experience of working at a senior level on M&E commercial projects, as well as ideally having had responsibility for full contract management.- Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner.- Good computer skills especially with Microsoft Office.- Be aware of health and safety requirements and the continual assessment/control of risk.- To actively contribute to the team (internal and client team).
