Our team is growing, and we are seeking a highly skilled Shift Engineer with HVAP (High Voltage Authorised Person) certification to join our dynamic workforce.

Job Summary:As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the efficient operation of critical infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. Your expertise in high-voltage systems and adherence to safety protocols will be pivotal in minimising downtime and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, including high-voltage (HV) equipment.

  • Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.

  • Respond to and resolve equipment faults and alarms promptly to maintain up time.

  • Perform HV switching operations as required, in accordance with safety procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, incidents, and energy usage.

  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialised repairs and system upgrades.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, including HVAP-specific protocols.

  • Provide detailed handovers to incoming shift engineers and supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • HVAP (High Voltage Authorised Person) certification is mandatory.

  • Proven experience as a shift engineer or similar role in a critical environment (e.g., data centres, hospitals, industrial plants).

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering).
