Exciting Opportunity: SEN Primary Teacher (QTS) - Ealing

Are you an experienced SEN Primary Teacher passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with sensory and special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and qualified SEN Primary Teacher (QTS) to join our Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) Unit in a supportive and inclusive primary school in Ealing.

About the Role

In this exciting role, you'll support Years 4-6 students with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), and sensory challenges. The class currently has 13 pupils, with a capacity of 15, and two new students expected after Christmas.

Your pupils are working at Year 1-3 levels, and you will deliver a tailored curriculum designed to support their educational, social, and emotional growth. This is a unique opportunity for an SEN Primary Teacher to join a dedicated team in Ealing and help create a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

As the SEN Primary Teacher, you will:

  • Collaborate with two TAs and HLTAs to provide a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Deliver a multi-sensory curriculum that caters to various learning styles and abilities.
  • Support pupils with sensory needs, including those on a sensory diet and using tools like visual aids, phonics, and Makaton.
  • Work with students with ASD, SpLD, challenging behaviours, and complex needs, including those recovering from strokes.
  • Use Zones of Regulation strategies to help students manage emotions and behaviours.
  • Lead Annual Reviews and work closely with professionals to implement EHCPs and ongoing support plans.
  • Benefit from long-term planning already established for the first two terms, with guidance from a teacher buddy.
Essential Criteria:

We are looking for an SEN Primary Teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has experience working with students with sensory needs.
  • Has a proven track record of delivering a multi-sensory curriculum.
  • Has worked with pupils with ASD, SpLD, and challenging behaviours.
  • Is familiar with tools like Team Teach (preferred), visual aids, phonics, and Makaton.
  • Has experience with Zones of Regulation and supporting students with complex needs, including those recovering from medical conditions like strokes.
  • Possesses excellent organisational skills to manage long-term planning and Annual Reviews for pupils with EHCPs.
