Teaching Assistant - Science and/or Maths - September start

A supportive and welcoming secondary school in Brent, North-West London are looking for graduate teaching assistants starting in September to support the staff and students. This is a fantastic opportunity for people to develop their skills in the education sector, good hours, in a relaxed environment with great structure support offered by the staff. The school is flexible with an inclusive ethos which ensures there are consistently high expectations for all. They are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual who has experience working within a secondary environment.

This would be great experience for a budding teacher, or someone who was considering a career in education.

This role will be commencing at the begining of September.

Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Science or Maths (or similar)
  • Good understanding of Science and Maths up to GCSE
  • Interest in working with children (specifically with SEN)
  • Experience working with secondary school children (age 11-16) in some capacity
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Either have or be willing to get an enhanced DBS on the update service, plus provide two references

Responsibilities:

Exact responsibilities will depend on role but may include:

  • Working with children aged 11-16 operating classes in various subjects.
  • Helping children with special educational needs
  • Engaging with students for 4-5 periods
  • Treating children with respect and kindness
