Teaching Assistant - SEMH

As a Teaching Assistant at this well-respected priamry school specialising in SEMH, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to children with SEMH needs, helping them to engage with the curriculum and develop their social and emotional skills
  • Collaborating with class teachers to create and implement personalised learning plans tailored to each child's individual needs and abilities
  • Monitoring and assessing pupils' progress, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to regular reviews and reports
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging children to build strong relationships with their peers and develop a love for learning
  • Supporting the school's behaviour management strategies, using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to help children regulate their emotions and behaviours
  • Attending and participating in relevant meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting children with SEMH needs

To be considered for this rewarding position, you should possess:

  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience working with children in an educational setting
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH needs and a deep understanding of the challenges they may face
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach, with a commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment for all children
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the children in your care
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure

We offer a competitive salary range of £95 to £115 per day, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
