Our client, a key player in the engineering sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This permanent role will involve commercially managing project delivery on highways maintenance frameworks across the heart of London. The position offers a fantastic opportunity to work amidst an experienced team, managing timely contract administration for NEC contracts.

Primary Duties:
  • Develop detailed bills of quantities from technical drawings using a customised schedule of rates

  • Draft and finalise contracts and subcontracts utilizing standardized documentation templates

  • Conduct all contract-related activities through the A-Site platform

  • Oversee and administer subcontractor agreements and relationships

  • Evaluate and certify monthly payment applications

  • Produce regular Cost Value Reconciliations and cash flow projections

  • Handle the submission and negotiation of final accounts with both clients and suppliers

  • Partner with operational teams to drive cost efficiencies, enhance profit margins, and manage potential risks

Management of Compensation Events:
  • Identify and address risks and potential opportunities in advance

  • Draft, submit, and negotiate Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Notices of Compensation Events (NCEs) with both clients and subcontractors

Payment Administration for Supply Chain:
  • Assess subcontractor payment requests and seek approval from the Commercial Manager

  • Match subcontractor disbursements with client certifications

  • Guarantee timely and accurate payments to subcontractors

Client Billing Responsibilities:
  • Align completed work forecasts with site operations teams

  • Provide supporting cost data to justify client applications

  • Prepare and deliver monthly applications along with required documentation

Document Control and Contract Administration:
  • Ensure all records are organized according to the designated filing system

  • Act promptly on all contract communications within required timeframes to meet KPIs

  • Support the Commercial Manager with relevant data for reports and financial forecasts

  • Perform additional tasks as reasonably requested
