Platform Engineering LeadLondon (2 days per week onsite) £90,000 - £100,000 We are seeking a forward-thinking Platform Engineering Lead to help our client shape and drive modern engineering practices across high-performing teams. This is a key leadership role focused on elevating engineering maturity, driving innovation, and delivering cloud-native applications that align with strategic business priorities.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering strategy and delivery across feature teams, fostering a strong culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Evangelise emerging technologies and modern engineering practices.
- Mentor and guide large technical teams, promoting high standards in code quality, DevSecOps, and automation.
- Drive the development of cloud-native applications, with a strong focus on modern JavaScript frameworks and API/microservices architecture.
- Monitor and improve engineering maturity across teams.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, manage technical dependencies, and communicate effectively through strong storytelling and influence.
- Strong background in JavaScript frameworks, microservices, and API development.
- Experience in building modern applications with cloud-native architectures.
- Proven leadership in large technical teams, with an Agile and product-focused mindset.
- Expertise in engineering culture, DevSecOps, and automation.
- Experience with public cloud platforms (eg, AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Strategic thinking, innovation, and thought leadership in a technical context.
- Ability to measure, mentor, and uplift engineering maturity across multiple teams.
- Knowledge sharing across labs and engineering communities.
- Engineering excellence and strategic interventions aligned with platform priorities.
- Governance and delivery aligned with Agile events and enterprise planning, including QBRs and Big Room Planning.
- Previous experience in the insurance domain and experience managing technical debt and risk effectively would be advantageous.
