Python Developer London/Hybrid

£50,000 - £55,000 + package

A leading specialist (re)insurer is growing its engineering team as it modernises its digital and data platforms. This is a great opportunity for someone who is eager to kick on, deepen their Python skills and grow into a key engineering contributor.

As a Python Developer your focus will be on building fast, secure and maintainable Back End services and APIs. You'll work closely with Product Owners and business stakeholders, so strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and enhance Back End services and APIs in Python, with a focus on performance, security and maintainability
• Work with Product Owners, Lead Developers and business teams to design services that align with business goals
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, and help improve DevOps practices
• Embrace and support continuous improvement across engineering capability, tooling and Azure cloud usage
• Use monitoring, logging and observability tools to keep services healthy and reliable
• Build effective working relationships with key technical and non-technical stakeholders across the business

Skills & Experience

• 2+ years' experience as a Python Developer in a professional environment
• Experience building Back End services/APIs, plus familiarity with automated testing in Python
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions), Git and working in an agile delivery environment
• Exposure to Docker or other containerisation tools, and modern observability/monitoring platforms
• Clear, confident communication skills, able to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders and build strong working relationships
