Senior IT Specialist - Operations Location: London (supporting EMEA & AsiaPac) - Hybrid, 3 Days in the Office Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Specialist to join a leading international conferences and events organisation. The company delivers high-level industry conferences attended by global professionals and is continuing to expand its technical capabilities across multiple regions.

About the Role

As a Senior IT Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimising the organisation's IT infrastructure to ensure performance, security, and reliability. You'll handle advanced operational support, work closely with regional teams, and act as a technical liaison for local vendors. You'll also contribute to key IT projects including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.

This role is ideal for an experienced IT professional who enjoys varied technical work, takes ownership, and thrives in a multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Maintain and optimise Servers, network equipment, storage, and core infrastructure.

  • Deploy, configure, and support hardware and software across EMEA and AsiaPac locations.

  • Implement security and data protection best practices.

  • Perform regular system monitoring, maintenance, and updates.

Operations & Support

  • Provide advanced technical support and resolve escalated issues.

  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

  • Troubleshoot system and network performance issues and minimise downtime.

  • Maintain technical documentation and configuration records.

Vendor & Project Support

  • Act as technical point of contact for local service providers and vendors.

  • Support procurement decisions with technical input.

  • Contribute to IT projects, including system upgrades and expansions.

  • Provide hands-on implementation support and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Business & Technical Leadership

  • Support regional business units with their technical needs.

  • Offer guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff.

  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and contribute to strategic discussions.

About You
  • 5-7 years' experience in IT Operations or Infrastructure roles.

  • Strong knowledge of server administration, networking, system security, and enterprise systems.

  • Experience with cloud technologies and virtualisation.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities.

  • Strong communication skills and comfortable working across multinational teams.
