• SC Cleared VDI Platform Engineer - Omnissa/VMWare Horizon
• City of London - Onsite 2/3 days a week
• 6 month contract

• £650 - £750 per day

We're seeking an experienced VDI Platform Engineer to support a medium-sized enterprise Omnissa (VMware) Horizon environment in a critical, high-impact setting.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on the operation, stability, and continuous improvement of the VDI platform. You'll be working across core Horizon infrastructure and desktop delivery - not a helpdesk role, though some targeted user support may be required where issues relate directly to the platform.

• Run and maintain the Horizon platform (pods, pools, brokers, gateways)
• Manage VDI infrastructure in collaboration with platform teams (vSphere, storage, networking)
• Monitor performance and capacity, troubleshooting issues end-to-end
• Support incidents, problem management, and change activity
• Manage desktop pools, golden images, and provisioning workflows
• Support application delivery (App Volumes or similar) and user profile management (DEM or equivalent)
• Troubleshoot Windows and Linux VDI session and performance issues
• Support core Windows Server services (AD, DNS, authentication)
• Contribute to patching, upgrades, and ongoing platform enhancements.

• Strong hands-on experience with VMware/Omnissa Horizon
• Live SC Clearance
• Proven experience operating VDI in enterprise environments
• Solid understanding of:
  • Horizon architecture (Connection Servers, UAG, pools, images)
  • vSphere (vCenter, ESXi)
  • VDI performance optimisation and troubleshooting
• Strong Windows Server knowledge (AD, GPO, DNS, identity integration)
• Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux VDI desktops
• Excellent troubleshooting across platform, OS, and user experience
