This is an exciting opening for an Accounts Assistant to help in managing day-to-day accounting tasks, primarily concerning accounts payable, receivable, bookkeeping, and ad hoc tasks.

The employer is a growing shipping company carrying dry bulk cargos all over the world. With an expanding fleet, the client is looking for somebody to join our team in our office in Chelsea, London to help with the accounting side of our operations.

Description

• Assisting with the processing of accounts receivable and payable
• Helping with bank reconciliations and cash flow management
• Supporting the preparation of monthly financial reports
• Aiding with VAT returns and payroll preparation
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Helping to maintain financial records and filings
• Contributing to improving financial systems and processes
• Complying with all company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations

Profile

A successful Accounts Assistant should have:

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
• Good numeracy skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work well as part of a team
