Job Title: Housing Assistant

Location: Ealing W5 2HL, (Full time Office Based)

Hourly rate 17.83 PAYE / 23.52 Umbrella per hour

Contract Length: 3-month contract (possibility of extension)

Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 35 hours

About the Role

Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service and making a real difference in your community? Ealing Council is looking for a dedicated Housing Assistant to join our Resident Services team. You'll be the first point of contact for residents, providing support across a range of housing services including rent, tenancy management, anti-social behaviour, home ownership, and estate services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for housing enquiries via phone, email, letter, and face-to-face.
  • Deliver a strong customer-focused service to a diverse community.
  • Provide reception duties and general office support.
  • Manage housing-related administrative tasks including rent accounts, garage lettings, and document management.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support residents throughout the lifetime of their tenancies or leases.
  • Assist in compiling statistical data and performance evidence.
  • Promote and uphold the Council's values and policies, including diversity and inclusion.

What We're Looking For

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve customer issues effectively.
  • Strong ICT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in delivering front-line services and managing administrative tasks.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and high standards of service delivery.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven ability to use word processing and spreadsheet software in a working environment.
  • Experience handling customer enquiries in a friendly and professional manner, including face to face.
  • Ability to manage records and documentation accurately.

Risk Culture: Assist in assessing and actively reporting on the Organisation's risk culture, driving initiatives to embed a proactive risk management culture across the organisation.
