Description
- Oversee financial aspects of property projects, from initial calculations to the final figures.
- Seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money while achieving the required standards and quality.
- Prepare reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
- Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs.
- Manage and coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and workers.
- Ensure that all work complies with legal regulations and quality standards.
- Negotiate contracts and tenders.
- Keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability.
Profile
A successful Quantity Surveyor should have:
- A degree in quantity surveying
- Knowledge of construction, materials, and industry.
- Proficiency in IT, numeracy and financial management.
- The ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people.
- Negotiation, team work, and leadership skills.
